DRONE COVERAGE
FOR ANY EVENT

VicCity Media provides professional drone and aerial media coverage for events throughout Greater Victoria and Vancouver Island. Every shoot combines sweeping aerial footage with ground-level photo and video, planned around your event's timeline and delivered within 48 hours.

Flying a drone near or over spectators is tightly regulated in Canada — a standard Basic drone certificate does not permit it. VicCity Media's pilot, Owen Stacey, holds a Transport Canada Advanced RPAS Pilot Certificate and Examiner License, meaning event organizers, venues, and planners can book aerial coverage with confidence that it's being flown legally, safely, and with $2M–$5M in liability insurance behind every flight.

DRONE EVENT COVERAGE — FAQ

How much does drone coverage cost for an event in Victoria BC?
Event drone coverage starts at $299 CAD as a standalone aerial photo session, or $199 CAD as an add-on to an existing package. Full event productions with aerial and ground coverage, edited highlight reels, and rush delivery are quoted individually — most fall between $500 and $1,500 CAD.
Is it legal to fly a drone over an event or crowd in Canada?
Flying near or over event spectators requires a Transport Canada Advanced Operations RPAS certificate — a Basic certificate does not permit flight over bystanders. VicCity Media's pilot holds an Advanced RPAS certificate and Transport Canada Examiner License, and manages all required airspace authorizations and NOTAMs before every event shoot.
Do I need a permit for drone event coverage?
No — VicCity Media handles all required Transport Canada airspace authorizations, NOTAMs, and site risk assessments as part of every event booking.
How far in advance should I book drone coverage for my event?
2 to 4 weeks' notice is recommended, especially for weekend weddings and festivals during peak season (May through September). Rush and short-notice bookings are sometimes available — get in touch to check current availability.
What types of events does VicCity Media cover?
Weddings, festivals and concerts, corporate events and conferences, sporting events, municipal and community events, and product or real estate launch events throughout Greater Victoria and Vancouver Island.
